We shall be holding a special service for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and afterwards there will be an opportunity to toast the Queen and to partake in drinks and nibbles.

We’re holding a Pentecost Party for the entire Parish beginning at 10.30 am, when together we will worship and seek God this Pentecost. There will be a children’s celebration running during part of the service, in the Pilands Wood Community Centre which will be an action packed and fun filled exploration of what Pentecost is all about.

After the service we will have a party including:

Hog Roast : Soft Drink Bar : Bouncy Castle : Bungee Run : Cake Stall

 Donations towards the cost of the hog greatly received on the day.

(Suggested £3+ per person.)

Please bring your own wine or beer (no alcopops please).

We need people to sign up to bring salads and also to help with stewarding – full details are on the sign-up sheets at both St. Leonard’s or St. Paul’s.

Steve Phillips and Tony Houston have been appointed as churchwardens for another year.

 John White, Linda Burt and Mike Wilman were appointed as PCC representatives joining Sheila Ablett, Debbie Hampton, Margaret Hayward, Andy Lord, Bill Rail, Colin Waterman, Ellen Vargeson, Lin Essaye and Mary Bernier.

 Mike Murray, Andy Lynch, Kevin Roberts & Scott Neale have stood down as PCC representatives and we thank them for their service while they have been on the PCC.

 Please remember Steve, Tony and the new PCC in your prayers over the coming weeks. The first meeting of the new PCC will be on Monday 21^st May, 7.30 pm at St. Paul’s.

 We also collect used postage stamps. Please cut them off the envelopes leaving about 1 cm of paper round each edge. Proceeds go to the Royal Blind Society.

 Mobile phones, printer cartridges and stamps can be brought to St. Paul’s and left in the appropriately labelled bins in the information alcove in the welcome area. Thank you.

If you’re not good at ladders don’t worry – there are lots of low level downpipes – and some support jobs which need doing.  Please search your bookshelves at home and if you find you’ve taken one inadvertently – please return it.

 The church bibles are for use during the service – but they should be returned to the shelf at the entrance to the worship area, after use.

The APCM is when we look back over and celebrate the year gone by, and look ahead to the future year. There is also a bit of official business to conduct. To vote at the APCM you need to be on the church electoral roll. If you have recently started attending church and have not completed an electoral roll application, contact the church office on 023 8040 6866.

 This year we have no vacancies on the Parochial Church Council although there remains one unfilled place on Deanery Synod which includes ex-officio PCC membership. Talk to Peter Vargeson or the Church Office to find out what is involved.

 All group leaders/co-ordinators should have now received requests for reports to be included in the APCM booklet. If you’re responsible for a group and you haven’t been asked for a report – we’d still like to receive one from you. There will be displays about church life put up before the APCM. If you’d like your group to be included in these please contact the church office 023 8040 6866.

For the second year we are privileged to host the Warsash Choral Society’s spring concert.  Programme will comprise:- Haydn’s Stabat Mater, Mozart’s Missa Brevis & Haydn’s Nelson Mass.

All are welcome – no charge for admission but there will be a retiring collection to be divided between the church and a nominated charity.

We are looking for extra singers to help out occasionally at weddings over the summer in St. Leonard’s. This workshop gives singers a chance to sing some of the material being used.
